• Bottom Line The Envision G22LWK is a 22-inch widescreen display that suffers from a number of performance flaws, such as uneven color scales, tinting, and a poor viewing angle. But it's very affordable ($280 street) and does a good job of displaying small text. Mymathlab Serial Port.
With a street price of under $300, the Envision G22LWK is one of the lowest-priced 22-inch displays I've seen to date. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for with this monitor. Among other problems, it had trouble reproducing grayscales and lighter colors, a reddish tint permeated dim and bright whites, and its viewing-angle performance fell short of its advertised rating. The 1,680-by-1,050 panel is mounted on a rigid oval base that provides tilt maneuverability but lacks height and swivel adjustments. The on-screen menus for adjusting image settings such as contrast, brightness, and color temperature are straightforward and easy to navigate. Audio volume and muting, an input selector, and an auto-adjust control are also built in to the menu system.
Although I usually gripe about the use of black lettering on a black bezel, the button icons are large enough to identify in all but the darkest environments. Analog and digital inputs are mounted on the rear of the panel, along with the power connector and an audio jack for the speakers. The DVI-D port is HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compliant, which means you can, theoretically, view protected Blu-ray or HD DVD movies in high definition (if your system also has an HDCP-compliant graphics card) without sacrificing image quality. I noted several weaknesses while viewing images from our DisplayMate () tests. The most notable was a color-tracking error that affected color and grayscale quality. Such an error occurs when RGB (red, green, blue) intensities don't sync up with the incoming signal, which can result in tinting.
In this case, I observed reddish tinting in several blocks on our color-tracking tests, and various shades of gray were tinted as well. Additionally, grayscale performance was dismal, with compression at both ends of the scale, most notably at the high end. This monitor could not display variations in light-gray and primary-color shades, making it difficult to see gradations in lighter shades of red, green, and yellow. Nama Ringtone Hp Ubed. As a result, lighter colors appeared washed-out and dull, and skin tones on my test DVD, The Departed, looked yellowed and uneven. On the plus side, the G22LWK did a fine job of displaying very small text, making it a good choice for viewing documents and spreadsheets. If image quality is as important as text readability, the might be a better choice, but be prepared to spend close to $100 more for the enhanced performance.
