I recently read about how changing the system clock can speed up Minecraft, so I've harnessed the power of the system clock in a simple utility. Run it and a clock icon will appear in the notification area. Left or right click the icon to open the menu, with the following menu options: Enable/Disable the speed multiplier Set the speed multiplier (from 0.1x to 100x) Synchronize your clock with a time server (for when you're done) Exit Hotkeys: Ctrl + Shift + E - Enable/Disable Ctrl + Shift + R - Set multiplier to 1x (Reset) Ctrl + Shift + Up - Increase multiplier Ctrl + Shift + Down - Decrease multiplier The program's made in C# and requires.NET 2 (current version is 4, you'll have it if you're on windows) but I make no guarantees for other operating systems. Linux can probably get it to work with Mono though.
It requires administrator access to run. Always be careful when downloading random programs so if you don't trust me, don't run it. Version 1.5, hotkeys! Version 1.4, now gets the time server list from your computer and sets the default to your default time server. Version 1.2, added some more multiplier options (100x, 1.5x and 1.25x) and the ability to automatically synchronize your clock when the multiplier is disabled and when the program exits. Download link (v1.5): And here's a youtube video showing it in action, just in case people think I'm trying to h4xx0r their computer.
Quote from Grix »So this basically overclocks the system? Kentucky Derby Program Number. Doesn't that cause overheating of the hardware components? Updating your clock is no where near the same thing as overclocking your CPU. The clock Scotty is reffering to is your actual time clock, like any other physical clock you might have in your house. Overclocking is increasing the speed at which your CPU processes data by changing the voltage multiplier of the CPU, and clock in this case is simply a term to define each 'tick' or time that the CPU performs an operation.
This can cause faster wear on your CPU because it's going faster than it was designed to do. This won't harm your computer in any way, minecraft just reacts strangely when you change the time on your PC. Hope that helped.
